The mission of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is to work for UK interests in a safe, just and prosperous world. In this context, the role of the British Embassy in Lima is to represent the British Government and to manage the various strands of the relationship between the UK and Peru.
The UK and Peru enjoy a wide-ranging relationship covering many areas of common interest. Commercial and trade partnerships continue to flourish (the UK is the second largest foreign investor in Peru). We work closely together on issues which are important for our two countries, such as climate change, security (drugs and organised crime), sustainable development and defence. The ever-increasing number of British visitors to Peru also plays an important role in the relationship; around 54,000 British citizens came to Peru in 2011.
The British Embassy in Lima is located in Miraflores, one of the most recognised districts of Lima. There are also three Consulates in Peru located in Cusco, Arequipa, Trujillo and Iquitos.
