On events in Algeria

The Foreign Office’s Minister Alistair Burt called Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean earlier this evening to express the British Government’s sincere condolences on the death of a Romanian citizen who was confirmed among the casualties of the terrorist attack in Algeria.

I would like to add my own heartfelt condolences to his family and to the Romanian people, and to all those who have lost a loved one in this terrible attack. Romania and the UK are both grieving today.

I know that both our countries will remain allied and steadfast in meeting the threat posed by terrorists who know no borders, and show no respect for human life.

  1. The events in Algeria are tragic. You are right, Romania and the UK are both grieving today. But separately. You cannot just ignore the anti-Romanian rethoric of British officials and mass-media.
