A video blog from Stockholm

I decided to use video alone for this week’s blog. View the film to find out about my trip to Sweden on the 7th June.                                                                         Updated to say, here’s a link to ‘Getting Europe back to work’, the speech I delivered whilst in Stockholm

Moldova and Romania

This week I travelled with my friend, German Minister for Europe, Werner Hoyer, to Moldova and Romania. In both Moldova and Romania we discussed the important issue of Transnistria. Whilst in Romania I met with economy Ministers to talk about the European single market, and energy security. To find out more, and to hear Werner […]

Visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Britain

Discussions with Pierre Lellouche

Earlier this week I went to France for meetings with Pierre Lellouche (French Minister with responsibility for European affairs). We discussed a wide range of issues of common importance, such as defence cooperation, but also Europe’s relationships with China, India and Turkey. In between our meetings I recorded a video blog. Watch it and find […]

24 hours in Brussels

I spent 24 hours in Brussels earlier this week for a packed schedule of meetings.  As a city, Brussels has a somewhat unfair reputation for being rather dull and grey.  I know from previous visits that there are some charming aspects to the place. Sadly on this occasion I saw little more than the inside […]

The FCDO is doing more to promote its work to a wider audience, engaging with people to inform others about the work that we do and inspire them to think about a career with us or work with us in other ways.

This blog is designed to capture a lot of the wide ranging work that we are doing across the office to engage people with the FCdO and its impacts. We welcome blogs from staff who have participated in or organised any event to engage people in the work that we do.

We also welcome blogs from the participants of these events on opinions about the impact and usefulness of them.
