At a time of economic recession, when every job counts, migrants are often accused of “taking away” the jobs of others born in the country but unemployed. […]

Holidays in Chernobyl

Economic Recovery

The global economic crisis, beginning in the global financial sector in 2008 and subsequently spreading across other economic sectors, has forced dramatic structural economic changes in the United Kingdom. Many countries remain depressed by the slow recovery of global demand, and the caution of companies and consumers. It does appear, though, that the United Kingdom […]

Remembrance

It’s 11 November, Armistice Day. I recorded this video blog in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, standing right beside memorials to Diplomatic staff who have lost their lives to military conflict or to terrorism, whilst in the service of their country.

Great Britain and Bolivar

At a time of bicentenary celebrations across Latin America, it seems right that we should also look at the history of Britain’s relationship with the region, and why that relationship remains so important today. In 1810, Simon Bolivar visited Britain as head of a diplomatic mission to enlist support for the Junta in Caracas and, […]

The FCDO is doing more to promote its work to a wider audience, engaging with people to inform others about the work that we do and inspire them to think about a career with us or work with us in other ways.

This blog is designed to capture a lot of the wide ranging work that we are doing across the office to engage people with the FCdO and its impacts. We welcome blogs from staff who have participated in or organised any event to engage people in the work that we do.

We also welcome blogs from the participants of these events on opinions about the impact and usefulness of them.

If you would like to blog please send an email digitalcontent@fco.gov.uk
