UK in Australia launch Science and Technology Season

Innovation and invention will help us to overcome some of the most important challenges facing the world today.

That’s why I’m so excited that the team here in Australia is launching its Science and Technology Season. Over the next ten weeks we will run trade missions, attend trade shows, host visits and events all focused on science, technology and innovation.

We want to build partnerships with Australian businesses and researchers to collaborate across cyber, space, infrastructure, advanced engineering and national security.

The UK’s tech ecosystem is world leading. We have world-class talent, supportive regulations and a spirit of innovation. The UK is at the forefront of AI, Fintech and biotech, – it’s a great time invest in UK tech.

The UK and Australia have a great foundation to build on: our UK-Australia Cyber and Critical Tech Partnership (CCTP) as well as digital and innovation chapters in the UK-Australia Free Trade Agreement. This establishes a Strategic Innovation Dialogue to share best practise, promote commercialisation and address potential risks to trade. The new UK Australia Net Zero Technology Partnership will build stronger innovation links and support the exchange of information on clean technology solutions to enable accelerated energy transitions in our two countries.

And AUKUS Pillar 2 will accelerate collaboration between the UK, Australia and the US on a range of cutting edge technologies.

We want to learn, share and grow together.
