The GREAT Mini Countryman and Rolls Royce
On the road to Budapest; it’s the grand prix this weekend and we’ll be there. Thought we’d drop in to Krakow – along the route.
Krakow is a GREAT City and also home to quite a number of big British investors – all recognisable names – Tesco, BP, Shell, HSBC.
Yes the UK is big in Krakow. We’d arranged a meeting with Rolls Royce. A GREAT opportunity to talk British international business in Krakow. What is Rolls Royce doing here you may ask? GREAT question.
We were met by the top management team in the car park who had all come down to see us. Rolls which has been open in Krakow for about two years has a shared service centre here. Very interesting. A team of high calibre purchasing and engineering professionals who are responsible for developing design and identifying supply chain opportunities.
Now that’s important. Rolls has got a GREAT focus on high quality power generation – quality/cost ratios are a fundamental part of the business. Better quality at lower price is on offer.
Rolls Royce has a GREAT interest in Poland and the broader Emerging Europe region – it’s all about power generation and service delivery – the best service package you can get – aviation, marine, relief energy, shale, oil. When it comes to power Rolls is there. But where are all those other GREAT British Energy companies.
Rolls Royce – GREAT facts
- 42 000 people in the world are being flown in a Rolls Royce powered plane at any one time
- A Rolls Royce plane takes off every 2 and a half seconds
- Rolls Royce Poland – 1 team dedicated to delivery excellence
Krakow – GREAT market; GREAT skills; GREAT supply chain opportunities. Would be GREAT to see more UK companies selling and sourcing in this exciting region.
By the way I forgot to tell you GREAT Mini Countryman feels at home here. Drive shafts and suspension – sourced in Malopolska – GREAT car made in Oxford with high quality bits from Poland. Now that’s a GREAT opportunity.
Hi Martin,
Many thanks for your GREAT notice about RR in Krakow. Just only two things requiring alteration:
1) We are 42,000 people only (there’s 400k)
2) We are a team of purchasing and engineering professionals, no IT specialists in RR Krakow.
I need to correct a part of my presentation since some of information could have been misleading. However all other stuff in your notice has been described in a very GREAT way.
With GREAT’est regards
Andrzej
Hi Andrzej,
Now altered. Apologies and many thanks for spotting.
With GREATest regards,
Martin
