Great British Supercars Set the Pace for UK Trade & Investment
To mark the visit of the Right Hon William Hague, MP to Warsaw recently the British Embassy in co-operation with Aston Martin Warszawa, Lotus Warszawa and JLR Polska hosted a British Motoring Hall of Fame.
A superb line up of British Motoring Excellence. Never before has the Embassy seen so much horsepower on one occasion. It’s great to see all these models available in Poland a car- mad country just like the UK. So just what was on show?
The Jaguar XJ, sleek, elegant and dynamic at the same time. The XK, XF and XJ series all available in Poland. The new Jaguar F-Type, the UK answer to the Porsche 911, coming next spring.
The Aston Martin DBS – 517 horsepower; look at those brake discs; listen to that engine; no wonder James Bond was driving this car in Casino Royale and the Quantum of Solace. British motoring excellence at its best. For those who want a little more horsepower try out the all new Vanquish with 570hp – taking orders now
The Lotus Evora – joined the line up of Lotus’ in 2009; together with the Elise a sports car driver’s dream; watch out the next one to hit the streets will be the new Esprit in 2013 – about 600 horsepower at your fingertips – watch out Ferrari and Porsche.
The Caterham 7 Superlight – a connoisseur’s car which takes you back to the Colin Chapman racing era of the Lotus 7; this model does 0-100 kms/hour in 2.9 seconds; pretty quick off the lights.
The Land Rover family – the Discovery 4 and the Range Rover Sport. SUV driving excellence; the Sport and the Victoria Beckham designed Evoque. 4 by 4 driving for all seasons.
They’re all great cars. Topping the bill was the DBS, a quintessentially British supercar, the leader of the pack. Aston Martin – 007 on Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
