I’m Tim Standbrook, and I oversee the work of the Science & Innovation Network (SIN) in China through the British Consulates in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing. My specific sectoral lead is the creative industries. However, my responsibilities cover all SIN activities in South China. Particular sectoral focuses currently are life sciences, energy and innovation platforms.
I was previously in China with the British Government’s Science and Innovation Network (SIN) at the same time as with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) from 2003 to 2007. From 2007 – 12, I worked in industry supporting the China operations of a leading UK ICT outsourcer, and a leading UK outdoor and fashion retail group.
I have represented the British Government in Korea, Pakistan and China.
