Indranil joined the Embassy in July 2013 as Development Counsellor, following 2 previous postings with DFID in Bangladesh and in Zimbabwe. He has worked for over 15 years on international development – on policy, programme management and implementation in 3 continents (Asia, Africa and Latin America) – with DFID since 2005 and previously with a variety of NGOs and civil society organisations. His interests include urbanisation, the role of emerging powers in poverty reduction beyond their borders and the role of the private sector in development outcomes.
