I really enjoy sharing my experiences and thoughts in an informal way through this blog. I’ve been able to do blog posts on subjects as diverse as foreign policy issues, the Commonwealth, the trade and education links between the UK and Pakistan and of course cricket. And I have particularly valued the feed back. But the demands of my time mean I can’t blog anything like as often as I would wish. And my blogs have touched on only a fraction of the work and interests of the British Mission here in Pakistan. So we’ve expanded my blogging platform to include my colleagues Susan and Jasper. They’ve already blogged a couple of times on interesting topics like the rights of disabled people in Pakistan and Pakistani literature and I know they’ll continue to provide fascinating posts. Hopefully we’ll get more guest bloggers in the future too. 2012 is a big year for the UK with lots of exciting things happening. The Olympics start in just over 100 days and the Paralympics will follow soon after. I wish all the Pakistani athletes who are competing the very best of luck. 2012 also marks the 60 reign of Her Majesty the Queen so in June people across the UK will be celebrating her Diamond Jubilee. And 2012 is proving to be an important year for Pakistan. I hope this blogging platform will highlight some of the issues and include some of the debate that will be part of this important year.
