Funding Opportunity

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Silicon Valley Office has issued a solicitation for innovators to submit ideas focused on Internet of Things (IoT) Security—HSHQDC-16-R-00035.

This call, open until December 11, 2016, is seeking solutions from participants from across the nation (and around the world) addressing one, some or all of the following three areas:

  • Detect: the ability to know what Internet of Thing (IoT) devices and components are connected to a given network or system
  • Authenticate: the ability to verify the provenance of IoT components and prevent and detect spoofing
  • Update: IoT security programs must include the ability to securely maintain and upgrade these components.

For more information about the call’s requirements, please visit FedBizOpps or contact dhs-silicon-valley@hq.dhs.gov

If you are interested in similar opportunities with DHS, additional funding calls will be issued in the coming months and will be published on DHS’ website.

About the DHS Silicon Valley Office

The Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP), which launched in late 2015, is S&T’s first HSIP regional program. These regional programs will help companies better understand DHS, S&T, DHS components, the homeland security mission, and how these innovation corridors can help the government solve problems across the Homeland Security Enterprise. S&T will leverage commercial investments to focus on several sectors, including information technology, finance, energy, health, and first responders.
