18th February 2013
Flying the flag and making friends
The Embassy is buzzing with British Week 2013 activity. We have so much going on this year open to the public that I wanted to highlight the opportunities so you don’t miss out!
It some ways it feels like we are trying to do a year’s worth of events in one week. But the team assures me that the work will be worth it, as over the course of one week we will meet more than two thousand people at our events!
So what can you do? How about watching some British films with us in zone 1 (23 February), in the residence (24 February) and in Antigua (26 February). Free popcorn for early arrivals!
Or perhaps learning more about UK universities or winning English language scholarships (all week)? Or to remind you of the London 2012 Olympics you can come to the Queen tribute concert and sing We Will Rock You at the top of your voice (1 March). Our charity Ball still has some tickets available (2 March) and charities have until Friday to apply for the proceeds.
We will also have some limited attendance events such as the multi sector trade mission meetings and alumni events. But you can express interest in these via ….
I think the Embassy team will be pretty worn out at the end of this, but I hope it will reinforce the point that we are Great Britain and better never stops.
