Hit the road today – destination Krakow, a specialist seminar focused on inward investment into the UK. 30 great companies, some already in the UK, a number looking for strong growth, some interested to learn more about the exciting opportunities on offer. I have to congratulate our programme partners the BPCC and Deloitte on a great event.
I met some really interesting and innovative companies. Wiśniowski a producer of power gates which open when you dial a dedicated phone number – they see huge potential in the UK. In Post – an innovative dedicated post box company – 600 boxes in Poland and 100 in the UK with 2,000 as a target – just imagine what they can do when they are linked up to an E commerce platform. This is going to revolutionise customer value in the home retail market
There are already 50,000 Polish companies registered in the UK. Now we are launching a campaign with the BPCC in Krakow and Wroclaw to attract high potential IT, ICT and healthcare companies to expand in the UK. Why is the UK attractive? – simple – it’s the largest per capita spend ICT market in Europe. More importantly the UK is a Great exporter-to a totally different set of countries than Poland – USA, Canada, Brazil, South Africa, Australia – there’s more. That makes the UK a great stopover for Polish product going global.
I was really pleased with the turnout and interest today. UKTIs got a great offer for Polish companies. A simple 3 step process to growth. First, register with us and brief us on what you are looking to do. Second, we’ll send you an opportunity overview in response to your direct brief. Third , land in the UK and set out on your international growth journey. A great buzz – so many Polish companies wanting to actively engage with the UK.
On the train going home I was just thinking what we can do to really get more UK companies to come to Poland. What can we do to create that same market buzz. Poland’s full of opportunity. Perhaps more importantly Poland is a great at selling to markets where we are not so good. That means we need more UK companies setting up their CEE hubs here – that’s for another day.
The UK. A Great place to do business – a Great place to research new products and a Great gateway to the world.
