Part of Stay Ahead of the Games UK in Poland

24th August 2012 Warsaw, Poland

It’s going to be a Great Autumn of Opportunity

All fired up and ready to go next week! Hope you all enjoyed your vacations and are looking forward to an Autumn rich in opportunity.

In 5 days time we have the start of the Paralympics – this is going to be a superb show of global sporting excellence. Our Ambassador was honoured to attend the leaving ceremony for the Polish Paralympians departing for London. Another two weeks of peak sporting performance. Can’t wait.

As the Olympics start we’re pleased to be launching the biggest ever campaign to present opportunity in Poland and the broader region. Emerging Europe’s great. What’s the background to this? Everyone’s focused on Emerging Europe markets. We are going to promote Emerging market opportunity close to home. A great idea – our markets are just two hours away from the UK by plane.

The Olympics is a key driver for our thinking in our Emerging Europe campaign. The legacy of London 2012 is huge. The Games have really inspired us. The scale of the UK’s export challenge is immense. Companies which engaged in the iconic East End of London Olympian re-generation campaign are coming to Poland.

We are already seeing lots of progress. Inspired by our GREAT campaign UK companies are starting to engage much more in the region – energy; transport infrastructure; retail; services – there is more and there will be more.

As we move forward into a great Autumn of opportunity I would like to invite you to join the British Embassy Commercial Diplomacy team to promote British Polish bilateral opportunity – exports, regional manufacturing and supply chain opportunities.

Keep your fingers crossed for the Olympics over the next couple of weeks. They’re going to be great!
