The UK and Norway: a wide-ranging partnership

During my visit to Oslo this week, I was reminded of the strength and depth of our relationship with Norway, and the wide range of issues where we have shared interests. The UK and Norway are partners in NATO in Afghanistan, we have a longstanding energy relationship, and a common interest in developing regional trade. Amongst many other discussions during my visit, I had the opportunity to meet business leaders from the electric and wind power sectors to discuss Norwegian investment in renewable energy in the UK.

I also visited Oslo cathedral, to pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist atrocity in July this year. The people of Norway have displayed a tremendous spirit of national dignity and solidarity in the face of these appalling acts.
