I am visiting Denmark today; yesterday I was in the Netherlands. I’ve met with members of the Governments of both countries as well as business leaders and Parliamentarians. The UK has important bilateral political, economic and trade relationships with both the Netherlands and Denmark, and in my visits I’m keen to explore how we can work together in the EU to drive forward some of our shared priorities, on competitiveness and growth.
I gave a speech on EU enlargement in The Hague yesterday. The experiences of the last decade show that further enlargement makes good business sense, removing barriers and facilitating trade. You can read the full speech here.
