Kanbar Hossein Bor is a British Diplomat and an international lawyer by way of background.
Kanbar studied at Rectory Comprehensive School and Hampton Grammar School. He went onto to study Law at Warwick University and completed a Masters in International Law at Cambridge University (St. Edmund’s College). Before joining the Foreign Office as a lawyer, Kanbar practiced constitutional law, criminal law and international law as a barrister.
During his service in the Foreign Office Kanbar has held a number of posts, both as a lawyer and diplomat, including: the Netherlands (Head of International Law Team and UK Agent to International Court of Justice), Iraq (Head of the Human Rights Team), Libya (Head of Libya Team) and most recently in Liberia where he was briefly Acting Ambassador during the Ebola crisis. He has also successfully led UK delegations during several multilateral conferences and meetings. Including in Vienna, Geneva and New York.
