  1. To the attention of the
    British Ambassador to Lebanon
    Mr. Tom Fletcher

    Your Excellency,
I have been in the publishing business since 1986. Every year our company, World Heritage Publishers, co-exhibits in London Book Fair under the sign of the Ministry of Culture, Lebanon.

As I filled the visa applications for my wife & myself and tried to fix an appointment for the interview, I discovered that all interview dates are booked till after the 8th of April, the opening day of LBP, meaning we can’t go.

I wish I would be denied a visa on a more serious basis knowing that my wife and I were at LBF in 2009, we passed through Heathrow airport in 2013 on our way to the US, we do have Green Cards from the US, and we are in our late sixties. Given the above, who’d deny us entry visas?

    Your Excellency,
I do ask for your help in this matter, bearing in mind that I’ve made hotel reservation, bought tickets, and scheduled a dozen meetings with British, American, and Far East publishers.
To miss all that will be catastrophic.

Hoping to have this issue taken into consideration,

    Truly,
    Makram Haddad

My thanks and my best wishes from Washington D.C,

    Thomas Chahine

  5. Mr. Fletcher,
Thank you for your kind words.
I wish that all of us can find some common and logic persons to bring Lebanon to be alive agian. they taught us to be hungery and only to look of a piece of bread, not allowed to think, nor breath.
too bad the light of this pearl has been shut down long time ago.
    V/R.
    Fawaz

  6. Hope all politicians in Lebanon will read this and work with it

  7. thank you Mr. Fletcher, you really said in a loud voice what i say also in a loud voice. i wish someone would really get the message and start thinking in a new way, the way that might lead to a new Lebanon.

  8. thank you but a simple question
is UK foreign policy is fighting over Lebanon or for it
    ?

  9. Good morning M. Fletcher
Thank you for your nice and sincere letter. Hope that everyone reads it. Really so touching words.
Proud of you and your presence in our country Lebanon.

    Respectfully yours

  10. I’m Hasan Farhat and i come from a small country named “Lebanon”,
where no place for talent and profession to be shown, because of bad politics
and war in and around Lebanon.
Lebanese are escaping from bombing all around Lebanon, most of the time
    illegally.

So ,I’m trying to immigrate to where my talent is respected, legally
Though, I’m really interested in my path and all dear country, maybe i can get
a chance of a better life, with the bigger hope and dream of continuing my education later

I need Help .. We, the Lebanese people, are living a horrible situation unlike most of other people outside. The war in Syria has caused us troubles more than Syrians themselves, who are coming to our country and taking our jobs. Also, you don’t know where an explosion might occur. I work in a company in Jnah, where a bomb exploded and thanks god I’m still alive. But if I survived this time, another time I may not be that lucky. I’m not asking for a lot, I just want to have a normal life (study, live, work, learn..) with my spouse where our rights are respected, because in our country we don’t get that respect, or a chance to improve ourselves. We only live once, so I hope you help me live it better. I’m trying to fly away with my diploma and experience in Graphic Design, with my spouse, but it isn’t working out. I really hope with your help and sense of humanity, and with my talent and passion for my job, you help me run away from this country and have a better life away from terrorist activities. http://www.behance.net/Hasan-Farhat
