This month we’re looking to recruit digital communications experts who are up for the challenge of ensuring the FCO makes the most of digital to support UK foreign policy goals.

The FCO has a great reputation for digital diplomacy but the challenge is huge and we constantly need to innovate.

You will be joining the Digital Transformation Unit, a creative, dynamic team of diplomats and digital specialists tasked with transforming policy, communications and services. With colleagues based in our embassies round the world, you will be working on some of the highest profile challenges facing the UK.

The roles

Head of Digital Engagement (London) – Deadline 28th September
The Head of Digital Engagement who will set the vision and strategy for the FCO’s digital communications and digital policy transformation work. This is a truly exciting opportunity to use your knowledge of innovative digital comms and engagement skills. The environment is fast paced and we’re looking for someone who combines digital expertise with editorial judgement, campaign and evaluation knowledge, people management skills and enthusiasm.

Senior Digital Content Manager (London) – Deadline end September Civil Servants only – login required, search under FCO vacancies.
In this pivotal role you will be working on the high priorities issues and ensuring that Ministerial offices, Posts and Heads of Mission have the best advice, based on insight, on how to engage and influence their audiences online. You will motivate and manage a small team in London and utilise the skills of our global digital hubs and wider network.

You will also work closely with the Government Digital Service and suppliers to deliver cost effective, innovative digital solutions to support FCO campaigns.

Digital Publishing & Communications Officer (New Delhi) – Deadline 23rd September

In this role you’ll provide publishing and editorial services to UK diplomatic missions across Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East. You will shape digital communications and practices in Central Asia and Africa by providing a more bespoke digital consultancy service to diplomatic teams, enabling them to make the most effective use of digital in all areas of their work, from communications to service delivery and policy development

GOV.UK content publisher, part-time (Madrid) – Deadline 11th September
You will provide publishing, editorial and support services to UK diplomatic missions across Europe and Latin America

Regional Digital Training Office, part-time (Madrid) – Deadline 11th September
You will design, develop and deliver training in the use of digital tools and techniques, enablingour European embassies and consulates.
