I am just back from leave and want to congratulate Poland’s magnificent paralympians on their fantastic achievement in winning 36 medals, including 14 golds. Just like the Team GB, the team exceeded expectations. I know that the London atmosphere of packed stadia full of passionate sports fans brought the very best out of every member of the team. There were so many fantastic performances that it is impossible to single out any of Poland’s latest crop of sporting heroes. But I really hope that their achievements will serve as a reminder of the real contribution that the disabled can make to all aspects of Polish life. I personally and the Embassy as a whole will stay engaged with both the paralympians and helping promote the rights of disabled people here.
