An early start and a quick walk around Kraków’s main square. Beautiful morning and a GREAT day ahead. The Ambassador’s in town for a series of meetings focused on the GREAT British Polish relationship.
The main message coming out of a number of pretty high level meetings was threefold:
- Kraków is a GREAT tourist destination for GREAT Britain; the UK is a GREAT destination for Polish tourists – not only there are now over 60 000 Polish owned businesses in the UK
- Kraków is home to some GREAT British investors which span the entire Emerging Europe region – BP, Capita, HSBC, Rolls Royce, Serco, Shell to name 6.
- We want more of the UK in Krakow – there are GREAT opportunities in energy, rail, life sciences, security, retail and services – an ‘easy to get to destination’- well worth a look and some GREAT bilateral opportunities
What comes over loud and clear in Kraków is there is GREAT scope for more. Kraków has a GREAT business park and is building a new technology park. The City offers GREAT IT skills, a high number of graduates and is on Poland’s GREAT South economic corridor.
