A Great British welcome to you in Warsaw Mr Foreign Secretary!
The UK has got a great relationship with Poland and it’s about to get even better. Hot on the heels of the Great British Olympics a 1 stop commercial diplomacy day. The British Foreign Secretary, the Right Hon, William Hague MP and the Minister of Defence, Phillip Hammond in Warsaw raising the profile of Poland as a superb trade and investment destination in Emerging Europe.
It’s not that nobody knows about the great opportunity which Poland represents it’s just that the relationship needs to blossom. We’re talking here about Emerging market potential right on the UK’s doorstep. We already have a great bilateral trade relationship – 15 billion pounds to be precise. That’s only scratching the surface though. There is much more open for UK business as the Foreign Secretary revealed. What went on today then; what’s all the fuss about?
Especially for the occasion we created a British Polish Power reception. A superb walk through the British Embassy garden, a motoring paradise, a testament to British engineering excellence. A pride of supercars, Jaguar, Lotus, Aston Martin – yes the James Bond DBD from Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace; there was more, a replica of Colin Chapman’s Lotus 7 and a brace of Rovers – the new Landrover and Range Rover. How did we get all that horsepower into one garden. I was forgetting 2 Great British JCBs who joined us from Torun for the afternoon.
From peak performance engineering to Great British credentials in power. A stunning exhibition of UK global competency in power and energy. 3 things we’re really good at on the world stage all in Warsaw – nuclear, gas and oil exploration and renewable. A firm commitment to Poland’s energy modernisation programme. A commitment to deliver. Top UK companies coming together in sectoral synergy demonstrating that we can make it happen.
Leading from the front the Foreign Secretary firmly positioned Poland in the rankings of close British business allies. Huge potential, massive growth and excellent sustainable prospects. A Great visit of opportunity. A confirmation that Britain means serious business in Emerging Europe. Now’s the time to go for growth in Poland.
